Guidance, not advice. We explain the rules, we don't assess your situation. Always seek financial or tax advice from your accountant, or contact CRA. Read our editorial scope →

    1. Publisher

TaxKiln Canada is an editorial publication of Kiln Guides Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom. Contact: hello@kilnguides.co.uk.

    2. Guidance, not advice

TaxKiln Canada provides tax guidance for informational purposes only. We are not liable for decisions made based on our content. For advice specific to your circumstances, consult a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or another qualified tax professional. See our Editorial Scope page for the full distinction between guidance and advice.

    3. General information only

The information and calculations on this site are for general information and planning only and:

    • May not reflect every rule, election or edge case that applies to your situation.
    • May not always match official CRA, Revenu Québec, or provincial calculations exactly.
    • Should not be relied on as the sole basis for tax or financial decisions.

You remain responsible for checking your own position using official CRA, Revenu Québec, or provincial guidance and, where appropriate, a qualified professional, before filing returns or taking action.

    4. No client–advisor relationship

Using TaxKiln Canada does not create a client–advisor relationship between you and us. We do not act as your accountant, tax agent, or financial advisor. We do not file returns with CRA, Revenu Québec, or any provincial authority on your behalf, and we do not monitor your deadlines or compliance obligations.

    5. Accuracy of calculations

We aim to implement current Canadian federal, provincial, and territorial tax rules faithfully, and to test calculators against worked examples and authoritative sources. Tax rules and thresholds can change, sometimes with limited notice; there may be differences between our estimates and your final CRA or provincial calculation. Treat all outputs as estimates.

    6. No liability for losses

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TaxKiln Canada, Kiln Guides Ltd, and its operators will not be liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense arising from use of, or reliance on, any calculation, estimate, figure, or information provided by the site; from any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies; or from any late filing, penalties, interest, additional tax, or other consequences of decisions you make. You use this site at your own risk.

    7. Intellectual property

All content on TaxKiln Canada is protected under the Canadian Copyright Act. You may share links to our pages freely. You may not reproduce, republish, or redistribute our content — in whole or in substantial part — without written permission from Kiln Guides Ltd.

    8. Third-party links

The site may link to third-party websites (for example, CRA, Revenu Québec, provincial tax authorities, CPA bodies, or the Tax Court of Canada) for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or availability.

    9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the federal laws of Canada and the laws of the Province of Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario in relation to any dispute or claim arising in connection with these terms.

    10. Changes to these terms

We may update this page from time to time — for example, if Canadian tax rules change, if editorial scope expands, or if we refine how the site is delivered. Any changes will be posted here with an updated "Last reviewed" date.
